My god it's been cold this week. Most days when I've left for work it's been right about 10 degrees. NOT OK. I'm more of a 70+ degree weather type of girl. Anyhoo, that is no excuse for me slacking the past few days on posting...oops. It's barely a week into this project and I'm already slacking - not good! It seems hard to focus myself to do this every day, but I think I've mentioned before that's the point. I need to focus on this stuff everyday, and this blog is supposed to be the tool to make that happen. So, let's work on catching up!
Tuesday: I've been working with our Creative department at work recently, and I am really enjoying it. One of my favorite things about working in Merchandise was working with the creative people. Maybe it was because I lucked out and worked with some really awesome people, but I just love creative types. It could be because I admire them so much, they have talents that I wish I have, but just don't. They see and think about the world in a way that amazes me. I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to work with them, it's a bright spot in my (usually bland) day.
Wednesday: Gosh yesterday. Yesterday was Extreme Exhaustion day, for no real reason. I only vaguely remember yesterday...hmmm... This is going to sound ridiculous...but: truffle oil. My goodness I love it. I love cooking with it, you can put it on nearly anything and it makes whatever that thing is infinitely more delicious. Last night I made whole wheat pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil: amazing. It is one of those ingredients that makes me happy I know how to, and enjoy cooking, and reminds me that truly good food can be made at home easily, cheapily and quickly.
Thursday: Today is easy. Today I am thankful for the abundance of craft stores in this area. And they are good craft stores, FILLED with bits and bobbles for me to toy with. Crafting, is maybe not something I excel at, but something I love to spend time doing. I like making things for others, and for myself. It's a luxury, but one I allow myself. Tonight I went to one of my favorite stores and bought a bunch of items for a gift for my mom - and came across vintage lucite for 50% off! I only bought two strands, but they should make a nice bracelet.
All for now. I am still exhausted and have a long day of driving tomorrow. More soon.
Night.
